The beautiful golden horses with their flowing white manes and tails first arrived here in the Fall of 1999. This was the beginning of Elmcrest Acres.
Being a horse lover all her life Donna convinced Dave he wanted horses too. Haflingers can be traced to Medieval times in the Tyrolean Mountains of what is modern day Austria and Northern Italy. During WWII breeding practices changed to produce a smaller stockier packhorse. Since then effort has been made to return them to their more refined taller height. The versatility of being a riding and driving horse has been emphasized. We love them for their willingness to learn and calm, quiet temperament and we are sure you will too!
